Our ATV Ridin' Dog

Here is our loyal, lovable dog. She's an old puppy but she still loves to ride with us.

For those of you who may be concerned, we just cruise down the dirt roads when she's with us and the bucket is well-padded. If she gets tired she just curls up and takes a nap but most of the time her nose is up in the air taking in all of the wonderful smells of the Flint Hills.

She won't be going with us to the Paiute Trail. We will definitely miss her!

Adventure Preparations

We're busy getting ready to ride the Paiute Trail in Utah. Yesterday we put up the tent, tested the air mattress and sleeping bags. We have hotel reservations along the trail but will take shelter just in case.

Actually, once we set everything up we began to think we might want to camp out one night because we really like our Coleman tent, air mattress and sleeping bags. I love being outdoors, it's just the sleeping on the ground where the snakes can crawl up next to me that bothers me.

My husband and family have some great snake stories to tell on me. My reaction to snakes does tend to provide a great source of amusement to those around me. I have no fear of any other wildlife and probably approach more wildlife than I should, but I'll run from a snake faster than anyone you've ever seen.

Time to pack up the cooking gear. I'm really looking forward to riding the trail with my husband. We should have a great time!
