Paiute Trail - Day 4

We left Koosharem on Trail 01.

This section of the trail is a very easy ride on farm roads.

We stayed on Trail 01 until the trail split near the entrance of Fishlake National Forest.

We had a tip that Trail 52 was a much prettier trail than Trail 01 so away we went on Trail 52.

We're glad we acted on the tip, Trail 52 turned out to be our favorite trail.

Trail 52 ended at Aurora so we headed in to town for gas. We found out Aurora didn't have a gas station so we had to go to Salina on Trail 01 to fill up. Unfortunately Salina was in the wrong direction so we added a few miles to the trip.

It was about 12:30 when we left Salina and since we still had quite a distance to go before the sun set we were hoping to make good time. West of Aurora the trail climbed foothills of the Pahvant Range and became very rocky. It took two hours to manuever this rough patch of trail. The trail then smoothed out and we were making good time again.

We did stop at Bean Canyon to take a few photos shown below.

As you can see from the photos it became cloudy. It did rain just enough to settle the dust on the trail and Joel was able to ride close behind me without eating any dust for most of the way back to Richfield.

We didn't stop to take any more photos but the scenery on this section of Trail 01 was beautiful. There were several passes through Aspen trees and incredible mountain views.

We made it back to Trail 04 and headed in to Richfield. We arrived in plenty of time to load the gear bags (dust and all) into the bed of the pickup and load the ATV's on the trailer before the sun went down.

Joel and I had a fantastic time riding the trail and we highly recommend this adventure to anyone who loves to ride and loves the great outdoors.
