South Dakota Road Trip - September, 2010 - Part 5

South Dakota

The sign reads, "Low Narrow Tunnel"
Prepare to enter the back of Needles Eye
Needles Highway

Here we go!

We made it but we're still wondering about
the guy pulling the camper...

We spent our last night in South Dakota in Martin, a real cowboy town.  On our way out the next morning we ate breakfast at the Martin Livestock Cafe.

I mention this because if you are ever near Martin and if you love omelettes, you should stop and have one of their famous omelettes.  You will not be disappointed.  It was without a doubt, the best omelette I've ever eaten.

Taylor, Nebraska

On the way home we stopped in Taylor, Nebraska.  Joel had spotted a junk shop while I was snapping a photo of the above hotel.

While at this junk shop we saw flyers for Nebraska's annual Junk Jaunt.  We decided to stay an extra day in Nebraska so we could make the Junk Jaunt loop.  We are not "pickers" but we like looking at antiques.

We stopped at quite a few places but it was more of a garage sale jaunt than anything.  We found a few junk shops and antique stores, and a couple of "treasures" did come back with us.

It was another great trip to add to our list of adventures in the great outdoors.
